Green Thoughts

Care for the environment is a matter of faith for us at Centenary.  We are actively seeking ways to reduce our impact on the earth and its resources because we love God and because we love his people.  We must find ways to meet our present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

We're Going GREEN at Centenary!  Here's what we're doing:

  • Our newsletter and worship materials are now being printed on recycled paper.
  • Recycling bins are located at both Sanctuary exits so you can easily leave your worship bulletin for recycling.
  • As our present light bulbs burn out, we are replacing them with compact flourescent bulbs that use much less energy and last up to 10 times as long.
  • We are exploring alternative materials and recycling options to help us reduce the amount of garbage generated by our Sunday and Wednesday meals.
  • Every week, we will publish a "Green Thought" to help each of us make better, more responsible decisions related to our environment.

What You Can Do:

Recyclables - especially aluminum cans - delivered to the Scrap Market at Macon Iron will not only be recycled, but will also generate money for Centenary.  Just ask that your recycling be credited to Centenary's account.
