OUR COMMUNITY

Activities for All Ages

There’s a place for you, no matter where you are in your spiritual journey.

Adult Groups

We seek to build community both within Centenary, as well as engaging with our neighbors. All are welcome at any of our opportunities for spiritual growth and many engage with our community solely through these opportunities. Take a look and you will find that whether you are interested in learning more about special seasonal events, classes, book groups, advocacy, or service opportunities, you will find it here.

Many of our groups use a book to ground us within our study while others use art, creative movement, or storytelling as a framework for growth and conversation. Through our groups, we wrestle with questions of our faith, share together in doubts and struggles, and seek to listen to perspectives that are not our own.

While there are new groups forming all the time, here are a few of the regularly scheduled groups that meet on an ongoing basis. Be sure to scroll through the Upcoming Events for details.

Nursery, Children, & Youth

At Centenary we don’t believe the children are the future of the church, but rather they are an active part of the church now. We invest in our children at all ages to cultivate them along their faith journey. Infants through PreK enjoy a wonderful time of education, play and unconditional love through our stellar nursery staff. Kindergarten through 5th graders participate in our children’s group at 10am Sunday morning along with assisting in worship as ushers, communion servers, and as part of the Children’s Choir. Middle and high school students join together with other youth in our community to ask their faith questions, gather together for fellowship, and use their hands and feet for missions.

Community Beyond Macon

In many ways, Centenary is a regional congregation with people attending from Milledgeville and Perry and all the way to Vienna. We seek to be a place where all people can find that sense of belonging and home…even if you never make it into our front doors.

Currently, Centenary is journeying alongside a faith community in Valdosta, GA as we seek to create safe, open, affirming spaces for all. Our Valdosta Community Group began with two members of Centenary who live in Valdosta and has grown to include many from disaffiliated congregations. The strong lay leadership guides this group as we support and provide resources, worship, and love along the way.

Are you wanting to create a similar space - either in Macon or beyond? Connect with Pastor Sara at sara@centenarymacon.org and let’s get dream together.
